Talented on the football field, the trio also considers itself quite savvy with the latest offerings from Hollywood - so much so, kangaroos.com.au has asked for some insight.
For the next few months, Jack, Ben and Sam will be giving you their take on the latest blockbusters to hit the silver screen and they will also dive deep into their own movie collections for in depth reviews and recommendations.
This week, Ben Warren headed to Village Cinemas to watch Knight and Day.

Right off the top I’m going to tell you all that I have gone off Tom Cruise lately, but I didn’t let that affect my way of thinking when it came to this review…well, sort of.
I liked him in Top Gun (who didn’t?), Jerry Maguire and the Mission Impossible movies but now I reckon he’s gone off the boil. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I don’t rate him anymore…maybe he’s too old.
Cameron Diaz on the other hand is hot and suits the role she has in this flick.
As a pair, I don’t think they have that much chemistry…but it wasn’t as bad as Vanilla Sky let me assure you. That movie was a train wreck.
So as I walked into the Village cinema to watch Knight and Day I tried to give them a clean slate.
Cruise plays a rogue secret agent who bumps into girl-next-door Diaz at the airport. As the CIA try to track down Cruise and assassinate him, Diaz is caught right in the middle and has no way of getting out unless she sticks with Cruise till the very end.
There is a lot of action in the movie but all of it is unrealistic and extremely far-fetched. You know the scene when someone fires a gun at a car and it explodes and flips in the air a hundred times? Or the one where the star of the film has a thousand bullets fired at him but he manages to escape unscathed on more than one occasion? Yep, far-fetched like that.
The many unbelievable scenes made me feel very detached from the movie and I kept saying to myself ‘there’s no way that could ever happen’. It made me think that if they had made it more realistic, the movie could have been way better.
If you liked True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger, then this could be one for you. I say this because there’s a fair bit of action mixed with a lot of comedy. In saying that, True Lies beats this flick hands down and is one of my all-time favourites.
The standout scene for me in Knight and Day was when Diaz gets on a plane with Cruise and all hell breaks loose. Diaz goes to the bathroom while Cruise is attacked by several secret agents posing as passengers…all this while Diaz is in the loo and totally unaware. When she comes out, it’s all peaceful again and Cruise has dealt with all of his attackers.
If I could give Tom Cruise some advice, I would say ‘stop worrying about your botox and pectoral implants and get your acting career back on track - because The Last Samurai was the bomb.’
If you get a chance, it’s worth seeing and is one of those movies that lets you switch off for two hours - let me know what you thought of it in the comments section below.
