This week they come up against Adelaide, which has won its last four and is contending for a top-four position.
The Saints have won four of their last six and are making a strong surge towards September, but Riewoldt said the team would have to be at its best to deal with the high-flying Crows.
"They're a very good team – very well-coached, very well-drilled, very structured," he said.
"We know what we're up against and we'll prepare accordingly.
"I think if we can bring the same sort of intensity that we did last week, and do that consistently for four quarters, then we'll be in with a shot.
"Our last eight weeks, we've won six of our last eight, so that's a pretty good form line, and I think the weekend was probably the most consistent we've played over four quarters, which is pleasing.
"It's something we've struggled to do, but which we're building towards."
The blond superstar's own form has either mirrored or led the team's form, depending on how you look at it.
"It's been nice to be able to capture some good form, but it's been along with the team as well, they've sort of gone hand in hand.
"I think my form was up and down earlier in the year, and the last eight weeks has been a lot better and more consistent, so it's good to be doing that at this time of year.
"It's been a buy-in from all the players – early in the year I was the same as the team, I was inconsistent, so it's good to be hitting some form at this time of year."
But despite his good run of form, Riewoldt dismissed talk of Brownlow Medal form.
"Oh, I don't tend to worry about those sorts of things.
"I'm a forward anyway, so I don't think we poll too well."
