Collingwood’s Ben Johnson has been cleared of any serious damage to his hamstring after undergoing scans on Monday morning.

Johnson, 30, left the ground midway through the first term of the VFL match on Saturday after feeling a pinch in his hamstring.

The damaging left footer was making his comeback via the VFL after injuring his back in the round six win over the Western Bulldogs.

“He had scans this morning and they showed no damage,” general manager of football Geoff Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au on Monday afternoon.

“The scans were OK so it was probably scar tissue and we will treat it symptomatically from here.”

His selection for the Saturday night contest against St Kilda depends largely on his output during the week.

“We will list him as a test and see how he trains this week with what he can and can’t do.”

In other good news on the injury front (click here to view the injury list), Leigh Brown is also listed as a test after injuring his calf in the loss to Geelong while Darren Jolly remains another one to two weeks away after undergoing a knee operation after the ANZAC Day win.
