Chance Bateman, Hawthorn, has been charged with a level three engaging in rough conduct offence against Brad Sheppard, West Coast, during the second quarter of the round seven match between Hawthorn and West Coast, played at Subiaco on Saturday May 8, 2010.

The match day report laid against the Geelong Cats’ James Kelly for engaging in rough conduct against the Sydney Swans’ Kieren Jack from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. The panel said Kelly came in to contest the ball in a pack situation. Jack had been paid a free kick just as Kelly arrived at the contest. It was the panel’s view that Kelly was still contesting the ball and was not aware that play had been called to a halt. His actions were not deemed unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.
Contact between North Melbourne’s Daniel Wells and Collingwood’s Luke Ball from the second quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The panel said the majority of contact was made to the shoulder and there was no forceful contact to the head/neck region. No further action was taken.
Contact between the Western Bulldogs’ Jarrod Harbrow and Melbourne’s Jamie Bennell from the first quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The panel said contact was made with an open hand as Harbrow went to smother a handball. No further action was taken.
Contact between Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt and the Adelaide Crows’ Bernie Vince from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Contact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

Contact between the Adelaide Crows’ Scott Thompson and Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt from the fourth quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. On the vision that was available to assess the incident, the panel said that Thompson had begun a tackling motion but did not continue with his tackle once Riewoldt disposed of the ball. No further action was taken.
