SYDNEY Swans’ ruckman Darren Jolly appears set to join Collingwood in exchange for a first round draft pick, reigniting debate the Swans will make a play for out of favour Carlton spearhead Brendan Fevola.

The Australian newspaper reports Jolly has asked the Swans for a trade back to Melbourne, with the Pies emerging as the frontrunners.

Last week, coach Paul Roos declared the Swans were unwilling to give up a first-round pick (No. 6) for Fevola but that could all change if the club is able to secure another pick inside the top 16 as part of the Jolly deal.

Collingwood could offer up its first pick, No.14, in exchange for the premiership ruckman, which the Swans could then on-trade to Carlton to secure Fevola.

The Herald Sun reports the Blues are unlikely to settle for less than a first-round draft pick and a player in return for the Coleman Medallist.

The Swans will replace Jolly with disgruntled West Coast ruckman/forward Mark Seaby, according to The Australian.

The same publication says Port Adelaide is also in the market for a ruckman.

The Power have already expressed interest in Blues’ big man Shaun Hampson and South Australian Mark Jamar and will hold talks with Richmond about Troy Simmonds on Monday.

Port Adelaide has also been linked to Fevola, despite publicly ruling out chasing the Coleman Medallist last week.

But the Brisbane Lions will not trade for the Blues’ spearhead after retaining the services of full-forward Daniel Bradshaw, according to The Australian.

However, The Age newspaper reports that the Lions could secure Swans’ midfielder Amon Buchanan in exchange for a second-round pick.

The Australian says Collingwood could couple the likely addition of Jolly with St Kilda onballer Luke Ball.

Ball has also been linked to Essendon and Port Adelaide and could play a part in the Andrew Lovett and Shaun Burgoyne deals.

The Herald Sun reports the Bombers could offer the Power Lovett and pick No. 10 in exchange for Burgoyne.

Burgoyne’s preferred destination is Hawthorn, but the club is refusing to satisfy Port Adelaide’s demands of pick No. 9 and either Jordan Lewis or Grant Birchall in return for the vice-captain.

St Kilda defender Matt Maguire has also been mentioned in trade talks, but is likely to remain at Moorabbin after being offered a new one-year deal according to The Australian.

Fremantle speedster Brett Peake also appears set to play for the Saints next year with the same publication reporting the deal is all but done.
