On Sunday November 30 you can go into battle for the Tigers in the Great Australian Run - a 15km fun run on a unique circuit through the streets of Melbourne, starting and finishing on the Grand Prix circuit at Albert Park.

By selecting Richmond when you enter online at www.greataustralianrun.com.au you register to run for the Club. The first 50 male and 50 female finishers for each club will have their times averaged out to determine the team with the Fittest Footy Fans in the AFL. Prizes will be awarded to these 100 runners from the winning team.

Join Trent Cochin and other AFL players, Olympian Craig Mottram, international stars like the great Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie, and thousands of joggers of all standards. It’s not a Premiership Cup, but bragging rights are on the line!

Plus, if you wish, you can raise funds for Very Special Kids, the preferred charity of the Richmond Football Club, in the process.

Very Special Kids supports families throughout their experience of caring for children with life-threatening illnesses, from diagnosis through to recovery or bereavement.

In the Great Australian Run, runners can support Very Special Kids and raise money for the cause by persuading friends, family and business associates to sponsor them - so much per km, or maybe a successful finisher donation, or even perhaps a bonus for achieving a target time.

The first step is for prospective runners to visit the event website for further information on the event and to lodge their entry – www.greataustralianrun.com.au

Then, runners begin their fundraising campaign, directing potential sponsors to the www.everydayhero.com.au/event/greataustralianrun2008 and instructing them to choose Very Special Kids as the nominated beneficiary when they confirm their pledge.

Join in the Great Australian Run and make every step of your 15km journey count towards a great outcome for Richmond Football Club and Very Special Kids.
