Daniel Bradshaw will don the Sydney Swans guernsey and face his former side for the first time this Saturday night at the SCG ’s as the Lions try to rebound from last week's 50-point loss to Melbourne.

Bradshaw was picked up by the Swans in last year's AFL Pre-season Draft after playing 222 games predominantly up forward with the Lions - including two premierships.

A six goal haul against West Coast last week proves that he has adjusted well to his new surrounds and Lions Senior Coach Michael Voss is aware of the challenge he presents for his team's backline.

“He is going well. His form seems to be good and is on a steady incline. That doesn’t surprise me,” Voss said.

“I think he has added something to their group. They have the [Adam] Goodes and Bradshaw combination and that is going to be talked about.”

In previous years, Lions full-back Daniel Merrett would get the task of minding Bradshaw at training and in intra-club matches, however a hamstring injury is set to sideline Merrett for this potential match-up.

Matt Maguire and Joel Patfull are the likely candidates to line up against the Swans' forward pairing of Bradshaw and Goodes come Saturday night.

“Goodes’ leadership capability has gone up two fold. The people that are around him get lifted and inspired by what he does. He has a very good record against us. You almost pity the guy that has to play on him,” Voss said.

Patfull’s ability to run with the opposition has scored him the role previously.

“More than likely it will be Joel Patfull. Joel has had that match up last year and probably beat him once and got beaten once at the SCG,” Voss said.

Both teams have won four out of their five matches this season with Sydney currently sitting at the top of the table on percentage.

“We are playing against a side that is top of the ladder in the competition. They are playing some really good footy, they have got some very, very good players that we have to be mindful of,” Voss said.

“We have historically struggled against the Swans jumper. It is going to be a nice little challenge for us when they are on top of their game.”
