Group Sales Coordinator

The Western Bulldogs, as one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia are offering an exciting opportunity to become the club’s Group Sales Coordinator. Group Ticketing, the practice of providing multiple tickets to organisations to sell or give to their employees or affiliates, has become the buzz word in sports around the globe and has helped sports clubs increase revenue and attendances and reach new audiences.

The role of the Group Sales Coordinator will be to develop, implement and execute the Western Bulldog’s sales program in this area. This is a highly dynamic role and requires a pro-active individual with strong interpersonal skills that is looking for an introductory role into the world of AFL football and an opportunity to gain project management and sales experience within an exciting and challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the General Manager, Fan Development and the General Manager, Consumer Operations develop the Group Sales process and plan, including key tasks, timelines and actions for the upcoming season
• Develop and manage the Club’s database of Group Sales contacts, identifying and creating relationships with businesses and organisations in the Western region that would like to participate in the Western Bulldogs’ Group Sales program (including cold calling)
• Liaise with key external stakeholders such as Etihad Stadium to manage the available ticket inventory and create compelling and attractive match day experiences for Group sales ticket buyers
• Sell Group Sales tickets to warm contacts within the database for selected match day fixtures and manage the process of ticket delivery to customers
• Manage the transaction process and collection of revenue for tickets sold
• Report and provide updates on the outcomes of the sales program for each match day fixture


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualifications and work experience in customer service / sales / marketing preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills, time management and the ability work well under pressure
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with multiple stakeholders
• Confident, motivated and proactive person - willingness to “get stuck in”
• Understanding of the sports entertainment industry, the AFL and club landscapes

This role is a full time position, but is required to have flexible working hours, including weekend work.
