Tim O'Leary, NAB General Manager Corporate Responsibility & Brands, said the lead-in to the 2010 Premiership Season had already provided multiple highlights, but that NAB wanted to provide the opportunity for all young fans to watch the semi-finals and gauge the performances of the competing teams - the Western Bulldogs, Port Adelaide, St Kilda and Fremantle.
“The first two rounds of the NAB Cup have unveiled some outstanding contests, with great matches between St Kilda/Collingwood, St Kilda/Sydney Swans, North Melbourne/Geelong Cats, Fremantle /North Melbourne and two powerful performances from Port Adelaide in their two victories,” Mr O'Leary said.
“The NAB Challenge has already taken a match to Yea, to support those communities affected by last year’s bushfires, with further matches still to be played over the next fortnight in community regions that don’t normally see the game at the elite level including Elizabeth (SA), Leederville (WA), Southport (Qld), Narrandera (NSW), North Ballarat (Vic) and Morwell (Vic).
"Through the NAB AFL Auskick program, the NAB Cup and the NAB AFL Rising Star pathway, NAB is associated with some of the highest profile, most widely regarded football programs in the country. What links NAB to these programs is a shared, simple and enduring belief in potential. We are pleased to be offering the opportunity for every child, whether a NAB AFL Auskicker or simply a footy fan, to come along and watch the NAB Cup semi-finals on us.”
All children under the age of 18 will be admitted free to both of this weekend’s matches, with entry to the unreserved seating sections of the ground. To claim the free tickets, juniors under the age of 18 (or their parents/guardians) will be required to go to a ticket seller at any Etihad Stadium ticket office on the night of the game to obtain a complimentary general admission ticket.
The Western Bulldogs host Port Adelaide on Friday night at 7.40pm and then St Kilda hosts Fremantle on Saturday night at 7.10pm.
