DANNY Meyer will make his Power debut on Saturday night against the Bulldogs, after being named as the Power’s nominated mid-season rookie upgrade.

Meyer made his AFL debut for Richmond against Port Adelaide in 2005 and played 17 games for the Tigers between 2005 and 2007. As the nominated rookie, he will be eligible to play for the remainder of the season.

Robbie Gray and Darwin native Daniel Motlop will return to the side while Alipate Carlile has been ruled out with a virus. Nick Lower has been omitted and as reported earlier in the week, Travis Boak will miss 4-6 weeks with a knee injury.

General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde said Meyer had earned his call-up.

“Danny’s showed some promise over the pre-season in a few matches and has been very consistent over the first 10 weeks for Glenelg,” Rohde said. “He played well in the state game and we know he’s AFL ready, having come to us from Richmond. Against a side like the Bulldogs, we’re confident he’ll provide some good run and carry for us.

“Bobby will miss with a virus and obviously with Boaky out with his knee, Robbie Gray (who missed last week with a virus) will get a bit more of a run in the centre. Nick Lower has been omitted but will travel with the team as the emergency.”

The Power will hold its final training session for the week tomorrow at TIO Stadium from 6pm.

The Power’s final 22 to face the Bulldogs, as named at 4.30pm on Thursday, is as follows…
