GEELONG'S Corey Enright might be underrated by some outside observers, but not by his peers or the All-Australia selection committee.
On Monday night, Enright won his second All-Australian jumper, and Matthew Scarlett – one of the all-time great fullbacks – has declared him a monty to win the club's best-and-fairest this year.
This year's AFLPA survey also voted him "the competition's most under-rated player".
Enright was also selected All-Australian in 2008, and has been an integral part of the Cats' defensive rebounding football, while able to spend good periods of time in the midfield as well.
Enright said it was great to be one of five Cats selected on the evening, especially alongside good mate Matty Scarlett.
"It always is nice, especially with the other teammates from Geelong, it's also a great honour," he said after being selected.
"He [Scarlett] is an absolute champion of the game, and he's going to go down as one of the greatest full-backs ever to play the game.
"So to play alongside him is something special."
Playing alongside such players has been part of the process that has lifted Enright to such lofty heights.
The Cat defender said he had learned a great deal from the other players on Geelong's list, such as not taking footy for granted.
"You just play every contest as it is, and just try and do your best every time you take the field," Enright said.
"It's been my most consistent year, and obviously it's a reward for effort and consistency.
"To play with some great players, makes my job a lot easier."
It's hard to see how someone with two All-Australian jumpers on the wall can be underrated, but it's something Enright manages to do.
Being part of a great team might have something to do with it, according to Enright.
"I just try to do my best for the team every week, and if I can beat my opponent, that gives us a better chance of winning," he said.
"Obviously we've got some really good players in our side, and that's what makes us a good side.
"But if I can just play my part, it makes our side a better team."
