“The Club set out to ensure that its senior core group of players remained intact and we are delighted to have achieved this objective”, head coach Gerard FitzGerald commented.
A number of players from the 2008 list have returned to local clubs within their communities, taking with them the skills gained from being a part of the Selkirk Roosters, both on and off the field.
The North Ballarat Rebels continues to be a strong recruiting ground for the Roosters.
“It is pleasing that with 5 new players coming through this pathway and another being through this previously in Tristan Cartledge, 50% of the list has come through the Rebels program” added FitzGerald.
The Roosters have also continued to grow and develop their relationship with the North Melbourne Football Club. With the three new inclusions, the total number of North Melbourne listed players aligned to the Roosters is 22.
Again as per previous years, local talent has been identified, coupled with players who have the desire to push themselves to play at the highest level possible.
