There have been a large volume of inbound calls to the AFL Membership Service Centre relating to the change in match classifications at Telstra Dome. We hope that the following information clarifies the changes in match classifications for games played at Telstra Dome throughout the 2007 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Essendon Away matches are no longer classified as ‘Reserved Seat Ticket Events’ which means that all of Level 3 will be opened as General Admission and AFL Members can scan their Membership cards at any gate for entry. It is no longer compulsory for AFL Members to have a reserve a seat to enter the stadium.

Should the AFL and Telstra Dome anticipate that there will be high demand for reserved seating for any match throughout the season (regardless of whether Essendon is the away team), Level 3 Premium Seating (Rows A-K, in Aisles 8 - 18 and 32 -42) will be available for AFL Members to purchase at the cost of the booking fee only.

Level 3 premium reserved seating will be made available for the matches listed below:

  • Round 6: Friday May 4, St Kilda v Carlton

    On-sale now through Ticketmaster

  • Round 8: Sunday May 20, Western Bulldogs v Collingwood

Level 3 reserved seating will be made available from 9am, Friday, May 4 through Ticketmaster

Reserved seating will be released in accordance to demand. Any areas not pre-reserved will be available for walk-up on the day of the match.

The AFL will continue to meet with Telstra Dome throughout the season to determine whether a high demand for reserved seating exists for specific matches. If a match is deemed to have a high demand for reserved seating, Level 3 Premium areas will be released for sale through Ticketmaster at 9am on the Friday 2 weeks prior to the match.

AFL Members will be notified via the website and email communications whether Level 3 Premium Seating will be available for upcoming matches.

Purchasing Level 3 Premium Reserved Seating

Please note that when purchasing a Level 3 reserved seat, you will need to purchase out of the ‘general public’ area as there is not a designated AFL Area on Level 3. For step by step instructions on how to purchase level 3 reserved seating online, click here.
