The Power has named a rare unchanged line-up for Balfours Showdown XXIV but have a player on standby in case David Rodan does not prove his fitness.

Here’s Power General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde’s insight into this week’s selection…

We’ve had a disappointing couple of weeks but we feel the players that have earned the right to be in the team deserve the opportunity to turn it around this week.

That’s not to say there wasn’t a great deal of discussion at match committee about changing the team because there was but we’ve stuck with the same 22 in the end.

There is some doubt about David Rodan’s fitness. He missed training today so Tom Logan will not play for Glenelg on Saturday in case we need him to replace Rodan on Sunday.

Logan was best-on-ground for Glenelg last week after being dropped so that was very pleasing for us, and Adam Thomson was in good form for Sturt.

Nathan Krakouer and Robbie Gray played a half each last week in the reserves after recovering from injury and are back in their SANFL league sides this weekend. Fabian Deluca and Adam Cockshell return from injury this week, meaning our only players not currently right to play on the weekend are Michael Wilson and Hugh Minson.

The Power kept an unchanged side only once last year, taking the same team into its opening final against West Coast.

The Power’s 22 to face the Crows, as named at 4.30pm on Friday, is as follows…

B: Michael Pettigrew, Alipate Carlile, Jacob Surjan
HB: Peter Burgoyne, Toby Thurstans, Dom Cassisi
C: Travis Boak, Chad Cornes, Kane Cornes
HF: David Rodan, Justin Westhoff, Danyle Pearce
F: Daniel Motlop, Warren Tredrea, Brett Ebert
Foll: Brendon Lade, Steven Salopek, Shaun Burgoyne
Interchange: Paul Stewart, Dean Brogan, Troy Chaplin, Matt Thomas
Emergencies: Nick Lower, Tom Logan, Damon White
