Collingwood’s star defender Ben Reid is available to play this weekend after the 22-year-old was subbed out of last weekend’s win over Brisbane.

Reid went down in a marking contest late in the third term and was taken down to the race and did not return to the ground.

“I went up in a marking contest and fell flat on my back,” Reid told Collingwoodfc.com.au on Tuesday morning.

“I was assessed by the doctors in the rooms and they thought it would be best if I didn’t return.

“I have pulled up pretty good and the soreness in my back has gone so I will be fine for the Fremantle trip.”

There are a host of Magpies in line for a return from injury this Friday night with Leon Davis and Andrew Krakouer near certainties to make the trip while Sharrod Wellingham (groin) and Chris Dawes (hand) have been listed as a test.
