PORT Adelaide forward Daniel Motlop will miss his side's NAB Cup match against West Coast after accepting a one-match ban for rough conduct.
The AFL's match review panel charged Motlop with a level one offence for his tackle on Michael Doughty in Saturday's 56-point victory over Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
Because he already had 93.75 points on his record, Motlop was offered a week's suspension with an early plea.
He would have risked a two-match ban by challenging the charge at the tribunal.
Should Port have lost to Adelaide, Motlop would have had to serve his suspension in round one of the home and away season.
Daniel Motlop is a $298,000 forward in this year's Toyota AFL Dream Team.
