Spelly: Hi Aaron, welcome back to the chat site. Congratulations on being an outstanding Captain of our Club this year ... with the ‘Captain Rotation Policy’ in place, who do you think will fill the role next year?

Aaron Hamill: I think Max Hudghton would have to be in the running ... he'd be a great candidate along with Lenny Hayes.

sainters: Aaron, do you think Fraser Gehrig will get a punishment like Steven Lawrence, or what’s going to happen with him?

Aaron Hamill: The coaching staff will deal with the situation ... I don't have any input in to that.

MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: How hard is it to watch out for all our younger players while you are Captain and watching the whole game?

Aaron Hamill: It's very frustrating watching ... it was one of the first times against West Coast that I had the chance to watch all the young guys. It was enjoyable in a way, but I’d much rather be out there with them.

seabreeze58: Hi Aaron, Judi from the Middle East here! Thank you for such a great game last weekend. I hope the back’s okay again.

Aaron Hamill: It was good to see you at the game, hope all is well, looking forward to seeing you next time you're in town - back is okay, thanks.

gems_mum: What made you change from Rugby to AFL?

Aaron Hamill: I played all sports growing up; I didn't play Rugby more than AFL.

Phyll: I have barracked for the Saints since 1966 ... Aaron, I just want to say how proud us supporters are of you all! Saturday’s game brought tears of happiness ... congratulations mate.

Aaron Hamill: I had the privilege of playing with Burkey for three years, and to send a true legend off in style on the weekend was fantastic.

i_luv_aussie: How has being the Captain been for you? An interesting experience, I presume?

Aaron Hamill: It's been really good, I’ve enjoyed working with the younger guys and the senior group as well ... you learn every week and it's been a great challenge. I’ve really enjoyed it and it will be sad to let it go.

Shone: Hi Aza, do you do any kind of mental rehearsal before a game?

Aaron Hamill: I like to visualise not so much on the day of the game, but in the week leading up to it, and quite a bit of video research on the opposition. On the day of the game I try to just let it happen.

chickidee: Hi Aaron, my name is Samantha - how is Riewoldt after that knock?

Aaron Hamill: He's fine, he trained really well today, he pulled up okay and was fine on Sunday.

i_luv_aussie: What’s going on with Fraser’s mullet?

Aaron Hamill: I think it's there to stay, he's pretty happy with it, so I can't see him losing it soon!

Thorno35: Aaron, who do you think will win the Brownlow this year?

Aaron Hamill: I reckon Robert Harvey has a good chance, or Lenny Hayes, but Michael Voss' first 13-14 games were outstanding, so he'd be up there.

hamillsgirl: Aaron, when you went off the ground in the Richmond game, why did you come back on with jumper #52?

Aaron Hamill: I had blood on my jumper, and they wouldn't let me go back on until I changed it.

parks: Aaron, with the Saints’ well publicised poor record at Optus Oval, has Grant Thomas or yourself spoken to the lads this week regarding that statistic?

Aaron Hamill: We haven't spoken about that, we speak about the opposition at length, but a lot of the young guys aren't involved in that record or statistic.

lenny_rox: Other players have talked of a buddy system - do you have a particular younger player you look out for?

Aaron Hamill: Yes - Luke Ball and Xavier Clarke.

hamill: Do you think we will win all the next games?

Aaron Hamill: There's no easy game, but we've got sides coming up that can't play in the finals’ ... that means they want to knock us off though, so it's a challenge.

MULLET_GEHRIG: How do you think we can improve our list to become a successful team for years? Also, I have to congratulate you on the captaincy and how you have shaken up the Club since you got there.

Aaron Hamill: I don't reckon we're too far off having the perfect mix - we're well documented as possibly lacking a ruckman, but Matty and Justin are doing a great job.

Wulf_Man:: Who do you think Grant is going to pick as our Number 1 draft pick?

Aaron Hamill: I haven't spoken to Grant about that, but I think we've got enough midfielders, so a 6 foot 2 type player maybe.

gracie: Are you looking forward to playing against your old club on the weekend, or are you just looking at it as any normal match?

Aaron Hamill: I like to treat it like any other game, but in reality it's not ... I’ve still got some friends there, so it's a bit of fun playing against them.

Phyll: Hello Aaron, I was wondering if Burkey is going to stay around and help with training?

Aaron Hamill: Yes, he took training tonight ... a couple of drills, so I reckon he's a good chance to stay around, and I think he wants to pursue coaching as well. His experience is invaluable so if he can stick around, that's great.

Bakes_Chick: Aaron, do you watch Milney and Bakes when they do ‘Saint Scared’ and laugh?

Aaron Hamill: I love it, it's a must see every Tuesday at 6:30 pm ... it's pretty funny!

saints_fan: Hi Aaron, what would you like to do after you've finished your footy career?

Aaron Hamill: I’m pretty interested in property, so I’ll get involved in that at some stage.

SainterNo2: Is Warney still involved with the Club, despite the recent media hype? If he is, what does he do exactly?

Aaron Hamill: He hasn't been around for awhile ... he was at the game on Saturday night, but he's been a busy guy this week, he's a true champ though and will be back.

thanksburkey: Aaron, how would like to be remembered in the football world after you have retired?

Aaron Hamill: Good question - you play this game to get the respect of your peers, there's no doubt about that - Burkey got that because he gave 100 per cent every time he played. I’d like to be remembered like that as well.

Spelly: When you were last on the chat site Sammy, you said “I definitely think if we don't make the finals' we will have under-achieved” ... what is required then to take the next step?

Aaron Hamill: When you say under-achieved, we've still got a hell of a lot of positives out of the year ... if we finish with 12 wins we might not make it because of the poor percentage, but all we can do is keep winning games of footy, and keep building the foundation for next season.

lenny_rox: What is the biggest difference between playing as Captain and not as Captain (obviously apart from being Captain and not Captain!)?

Aaron Hamill: Probably not a huge difference ... I think you feel more expectation, but that's a good thing - you feel every missed kick and handball the team has, but because we've got so many young guys, I’m just trying to make everything run smoothly for them.

Aaron Hamill: I really appreciate your time tonight, sorry I was late. I’d like to personally thank you for your support - and on behalf of all the players. Thanks again for coming along, cheers!
