WESTERN Australia is the only unbeaten team in the NAB AFL U18 Championships as the four Division Two teams prepare to complete round three of Australia's premier underage football competition.

With the new eight-team format over five rounds, Western Australia has triumphed over South Australia, Northern Territory and Victoria Metro.

They still must overcome a plucky Tasmanian outfit – who came close to causing the upset of the series when it pushed Victoria Country all the way – and then Victoria Country at Docklands to win their second title in three years.

Both Victorian teams succumbed to their away fixtures last weekend with Victoria Metro losing for the second time in the carnival to Western Australia at Subiaco in a repeat of the result in 2007.

Victoria Country, after wins over Victoria Metro and Tasmania, found South Australia too strong at home in the wet and their chances of claiming the title are now fading.

South Australia will travel to Melbourne to face NSW/ACT and Victoria Metro with the hope of posting its highest finish at U18 level in a decade.  And according to Champion Data's unique rating system, they will do it with the help of the competition's highest ranked player, captain Jack Trengove.

Trengove has averaged an impressive 146.3 points a game based on Champion’s formula, which takes into account all the facets of the game.

Trengove has been outstanding in his capacity to influence matches with his ability to win the contested ball, take strong marks, kick important goals and put enormous physical pressure on his opponents.

The top 10 rated players who have completed three matches are:

1. Jack Trengove (SA) – averaging 146.3 points per game
2. Matt Panos (SA) – 128
3. Andrew Hooper (Vic Country) –128
4. David Swallow (WA) – 124
5. Hayden Jolly (SA) – 122
6. Tom Scully (Vic Metro) – 116
7. Ben Cunnington (Vic Country) – 115
8. Jayden Hoegel (Vic Metro) – 115
9. Koby Stevens (Vic Country) – 111
10. Branden Matera (WA) – 109

We look forward to the games this weekend between NSW/ACT and Northern Territory at ANZ Stadium in Sydney and Tasmania vs. Queensland at Aurora Stadium in Launceston before the final 2 rounds beginning the following weekend in Melbourne.
