Multicultural Round was celebrated in style at Aegis Park, kicking off with a match on the Arden Street ground between The Huddle's multicultural and indigenous academies.
The multicultural team was coached by youngster Ayden Kennedy and included boys from around North Melbourne and Ballarat while the indigenous team was coached by The Huddle community ambassador Mick Edwards and had indigenous boys from across Victoria.
The indigenous side prevailed on the day and both sides participated in the community walk from Arden Street to Etihad Stadium after the match. The number of walkers swelled to more than 300 along the way. The walk was a true representation of the club and its remarkable history.
On arrival at the ground, the walkers joined crowds of North and Western Bulldogs' supporters for some pre-match entertainment provided by the Asanti Dance Theatre, Burundian Drummers and Brazilian Drummers.
Inside the stadium The Huddle bays were overflowing with people wearing the club's special 'Our Club, Our Community' t-shirt. The t-shirt celebrates North Melbourne's many languages and club 'tweets' were sent out in Mandarin and Hindi via community ambassadors Charles Zhang and Amit Tiwary.
The fantastic win by North Melbourne capped off a perfect day.
