Three Boys Dreaming, directed and produced by Michael Cordell, follows the story of three young indigenous boys as they attempt to follow their dreams of becoming AFL footballers.

Daniel Jago, from Smithton in the remote North-West of Tasmania, Daen Lomas from Sydney’s West and Carlton star Chris Yarran from Western Australia feature in the documentary, which takes place over three years.

The film follows the boys as they experience the highs and lows of the pathway that ultimately leads to the AFL.

Cordell follows the boys as they take part in the NAB AFL Under 16 Championships, AIS/AFL Academy, NAB AFL Under 18 Championships, Draft Camp and finally the AFL Draft.

Much more than a film about sport, this is a universal film about dreams, ambition and about what happens when life gets in the way.

Three Boys Dreaming will screen nationally on ABC1 on Tuesday, February 1 at 8.30pm
