THE Brisbane Lions have been forced to make two changes to the side that comfortably accounted for North Melbourne last week, with Jason Roe and Ashley McGrath to both miss Sunday's clash against Fremantle with hamstring injuries.

Veteran hardnut Robert Copeland has regained his place, while James Hawksley, a 19-year-old, lightly-built running player who was the No.38 pick in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft is in for his AFL debut at the Gabba.

Key forward Jonathan Brown has been named for the Lions despite reports he’s struggling with a knee, which he hyper-extended in the victory over the Kangaroos.

After his side's fifth consecutive loss after leading at the last change, Fremantle coach Mark Harvey and his match committee have made three changes, although the Freo top dog admits that could change depending on the weather in Brisbane on Sunday.

Peter Bell is a welcome return while Mark Johnson and Robert Warnock come in at the expense of Paul Duffield, Byron Schammer and Scott Thornton (all omitted).

St Kilda go into Sunday’s clash with the Western Bulldogs with an unchanged line-up after thumping Melbourne last week.

For the Doggies, Callan Ward will make his debut for the club, while Andrejs Everitt will play his first match for the season.

Ward, the No.19 pick in last year’s NAB AFL Draft, has been selected on a wing for his first match but has the ability to play at either end of the ground.

Robert Murphy is out through suspension while Tim Callan will miss with a hamstring injury.

Port Adelaide has regained Dominic Cassisi for Sunday’s twilight clash at AAMI Stadium against the Blues.

The important onballer goes straight into the starting 18 with Jacob Surjan moving to the emergencies.

Carlton loses defender Paul Bower for up to eight weeks with a shoulder injury, but first choice centre half-back Jarrad Waite will resume after serving a one-match ban.

Melbourne will make at least two changes ahead of the Queen’s Birthday encounter with the Magpies.

Russell Robertson (achilles) and Simon Buckley (omitted) both come out of the team thumped by the Saints last week, but Cale Morton has recovered from the flu and slots straight back into the starting 18.

James Frawley was also withdrawn from the Melbourne side late on Friday, replaced by Daniel Bell.

The final team selections for Monday’s game won’t be finalised until 4pm Saturday afternoon.
