HAWTHORN captain Luke Hodge has recovered from his weekend bout of illness and is certain to lead his team out in Saturday's Grand Final against the Sydney Swans.??
Hodge was a late withdrawal from the Hawks' preliminary final win over Adelaide on the weekend, but joined his teammates in a light recovery session at Waverley Park on Monday.
Earlier, teammate Jordan Lewis reported Hodge was back to full health.??
"I've got no doubt he'll play," Lewis said.??
"He had the sniffles over the weekend, so I'm sure a few of his Colac mates would have been getting into him for missing a game with the sniffles.??
"But he looks great this morning and he's ready to go."
Lewis was less certain about half-back Brent Guerra, who is racing to prove his fitness after tearing his hamstring in round 23.
Guerra was also in the group of Hawks who took to the track, but the low intensity of the session made it impossible to gauge his level of fitness.
"It's hard to say from a player's perspective [whether he'll be right to play]," Lewis said.??
"The coaches are paid to do what they do, and they're made to make the tough calls, so they'll make the call when it's necessary."
