HAWTHORN'S Campbell Brown, West Coast rookie Ashton Hams and Adelaide's Graham Johncock are all facing time on the sidelines after the match review panel assessed incidents from round 17.

However, Jarrad Waite has escaped his third suspension of the season, after the MRP dismissed his match day report for engaging in rough conduct against West Coast’s Adam Selwood.

The panel said Waite made contact to Selwood’s shoulder area and the action was not considered to be a reportable offence.

But Brown was not so lucky, with the serial offender cited for striking St Kilda onballer Nick Dal Santo in the opening quarter of Friday night's thrilling draw between the Hawks and Saints at Etihad Stadium.

Brown faces a two-game ban and his poor record means he cannot reduce the penalty with an early guilty plea.

Hams, who has been a bright light up forward in a dismal season for the Eagles, was offered a four-match ban for engaging in rough conduct against Carlton's Dennis Armfield.

Hams can have the suspension reduced to three weeks with an early plea.

Armfield was taken to hospital for scans on his neck after the incident, but he has escaped serious injury.

Johncock can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea after being charged with rough conduct against Port Adelaide's Cameron Hitchcock in Sunday's showdown at AAMI Stadium.

In the last incident highlighted by the panel, North Melbourne youngster Ben Cunnington faces a $1200 fine for making contact with an umpire.

With an early guilty plea he can part with only $900.

Finally, there was better news for Brisbane Lion Brent Staker.

His match day report for striking Geelong’s Darren Milburn was thrown out.

The MRP decided that Staker was attempting to tackle Milburn and the contact was not a striking motion.
