The Melbourne Football Club is the AFL’s oldest sporting organisation, rich in tradition, exciting in playing list, strong in ethos, and valuing community spirit and team engagement.
We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Commercial Sales Account Manager to join our team based at the MCG offices. This role reports directly to the Commercial Sales Manager. This role is responsible for the identification and generation of sales into the corporate match day and non-match day events and sponsorship portfolio of the Melbourne Football Club.
Within this role you will be responsible for:-
· Increasing sales revenues for corporate match day and non-match day events; including ticket sales for games at the MCG.
· Building strong business relationships with club sponsors and corporate clients.
· Management and ongoing development of the client list.
· Creation of new inventory and the development of new business clients to drive corporate sales revenues.
· Identifying potential sponsors to help grow Melbourne Football Club sponsorship portfolio.
· Actively promoting and demonstrating a strong customer service ethic.
To be successful in the role you must have:-
Passion for sport and recreation (AFL is preferred).
Proven experience in a similar role, sales or retail sales.
Demonstrated ability to network and build strong professional relationships
Experience in digital sales or marketing would be an advantage.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to present well in front of small and large groups of people and build rapport quickly.
Excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
