COLLINGWOOD football director Geoff Walsh says the injuries sustained by a number of Magpies in Friday's 96-point loss to Geelong are not serious enough to keep any of them out of next week's qualifying final against West Coast.

Defender Chris Tarrant suffered an ankle injury and Travis Cloke and Ben Johnson both sustained knee injuries in last night's 96-point drubbing at the hands of Geelong but all will be right to take on the Eagles.

Walsh told 3AW radio the club was pleased with how the players had pulled up on Saturday morning.

"[Tarrant] reported for injury clinic this morning and our doctors are confident that it,s a slight ankle sprain," Walsh said.

"Nothing serious, or certainly not serious enough to keep him out of next week's game, so that's one pleasing aspect out of the wash up this morning."

He also shed some light on the status of Cloke and Johnson.

"Travis has a bit of bruising on the inside of the knee so he's pulled up fine, and Benny is the same sort of thing, a direct trauma [injury], rather than a wrench or a strain so they were pretty sore last night."

"The good thing is that everyone who had a niggle last night has pulled up pretty well, and to the extent they'll be able to play next week."

The Magpies went in to the clash with Geelong with 20 wins and one loss, but Walsh doesn't think last night's result will have that much impact on the psyche of the players.

"I think we can put it down to an aberration because we're certainly not that bad."

"We're clearly a capable side. Last night we certainly didn't show a helluva lot of fight once the game looked gone."

Walsh said Leon Davis, who missed last night due to hamstring tightness, and captain Nick Maxwell (thumb) are likely to play against the Eagles next week.

"[Davis] had a bit of soreness and a bit of tightness in his hamstring during the week, and when you get those warning signs, we wanted to err on the side of caution, give him an extra 7-10 days."

"Nick has recovered extremely quickly, his running form in the last two or three sessions has been excellent and the thumb has knitted and mended pretty well."

"He'll certainly put his hand up for selection."
