John Bailey thought he was taking a call from a telemarketer last Friday afternoon while holidaying in Noosa.

The last thing he was expecting was the choice of a $40,000 cash prize, a brand new Volvo or a corporate box at the MCG for a year.

John was the lucky winner of the Club’s third annual $200 Donation fundraiser, and the $40,000 cash prize that he chose could not have come at a better time.

“What a lovely surprise, given I am a self funded retiree who has been hit hard by the share market collapse,” John said after hearing the good news.

This is one of the Club’s major fundraisers, and over the past three years has injected hundreds of thousands of dollars into our football department. 

This year all proceeds contributed to the Debt Demolition campaign, which has raised over $3 million to date.
