MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: Hey Ben, how is it being at the same Club as your brother Troy?

Ben Schwarze: It's very enjoyable, and you get to learn a lot from him.

bens_gurl: Welcome to the chat site Ben, how is training going? I haven't been able to get down to watch lately.

Ben Schwarze: Training is going pretty good ... today was a bit wet and the conditions weren't the best for footy, but mostly it's fun.

bens_gurl: How do you like playing for Springy with your brother and your cousin?

Ben Schwarze: Springy is something that I have to do, and it makes it more enjoyable with your brother and cousin there.

bens_gurl: Who are your best mates at the Club?

Ben Schwarze: Probably Allan Murray and Josh Houlihan, but I get along with all the boys.

lenny_will_win_the_brownlow: Hey Ben, what's your least favourite training drill?

Ben Schwarze: Full ground training drill.

bens_gurl: What do you like to do on the weekends or Friday nights when you have no footy on?

Ben Schwarze: On weekends, if there's no footy or the footy season is over, I’d normally go out to a pub with a few friends, or go and see a movie.

lenny_rox: Ben, have you always wanted to play AFL?

Ben Schwarze: Certainly have ... I’ve played football since I was 9 and it's always been a dream, especially since Troy got drafted.

lenny_rox: Ben, what do you do outside of footy - work/study?

Ben Schwarze: No study ... I’m doing an anti-bullying program with the Club and in the Summer I just head down to the beach for a surf.

ivy_my_hero: Hows Troy’s injury coming along?

Ben Schwarze: He started running today and will definitely play next week.

MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: Do you have any favourite team mates at the Club and, if not, who is the funniest at the Club?

Ben Schwarze: Milne of course!

Special_K: Do you reckon Troy has been crucified this year by being played in the backline, surely his contribution would be much more valuable in the forward line where his kick could be put to better use?

Ben Schwarze: He's got a role with the Club, and he's probably best used as a running defender and delivering in to the forward line.

geeze: Have you ever had a serious injury?

Ben Schwarze: In the Under 18’s I dislocated my shoulder, and that's the only one, touch wood!

saintboy: Do you think you are better at football than your brother?

Ben Schwarze: Not at the moment because I haven't proved it!

lenny_rox: What do you find are the main differences between the way that the Saints and Springy train?

Ben Schwarze: The Saints train with a bit more intensity and the skills are a lot better.

saintboy: Who do you think will win the Best and Fairest?

Ben Schwarze: You'd have to say Lenny Hayes or Robert Harvey at this stage.

blacks_gal: Do you get along with Grant Thomas really well?

Ben Schwarze: We have a chat on a regular basis.

ivy_my_hero: Has Baker’s and Yapper’s stardom gone to their heads with ‘Saint Scared’?

Ben Schwarze: It certainly has!

MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: How far do you think you are away from getting a spot in the Seniors?

Ben Schwarze: If I keep playing consistently good footy, I might get an opportunity towards the end of the season.

lenny_rox: What do you find is the hardest thing about playing AFL?

Ben Schwarze: The pre-season.

go: Hey Ben, do you still do that drill where you have to have a shot for goal and if you miss you have to do push-ups?

Ben Schwarze: We haven't done it for awhile, but it was a bit of fun when we did.

lenny_will_win_the_brownlow: Who do you live with?

Ben Schwarze: I’m still living at home ... I hope to get out next year.

lenny_rox: What do you enjoy most about playing footy?

Ben Schwarze: Probably the mateship you have with all your friends at the Club, and just living the dream.

geeze: What would you do if you weren’t a footballer?

Ben Schwarze: Probably nothing! ... live on the coast and surf.

geeze: What team did you barrack for as a kid?

Ben Schwarze: Melbourne - because my Mum did.

Special_K: Did your Dad play any football, and have you got a sporting background in your family?

Ben Schwarze: Dad did play football - from what he tells me, he was pretty good, but I don't know if I believe it! My Mum has probably got a bigger sporting background.

bens_gurl: Do you think your younger brother Brenton will follow in you and your brother’s footsteps?

Ben Schwarze: I’d love to see him make it one day, and he's playing football for St Bedes at the moment.

geeze: Do you have confidence in the Saints that we can make the finals’?

Ben Schwarze: We have to definitely win our next 2 games ... if we do that, we're every chance.

MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: What music are you in to?

Ben Schwarze: Modern stuff, Rap and R & B.

go: Hey Ben, do you know if Steven Lawrence is going to be alright?

Ben Schwarze: We haven't heard a lot about it, but I’m sure he'll be fine.

geeze: What’s your nickname?

Ben Schwarze: A simple one – Benny.

saintboy: What do you eat before a game?

Ben Schwarze: Spaghetti on toast with a poached egg in the middle.

saintboy: Do you have any tips for people wanting to become an AFL footballer?

Ben Schwarze: Concentrate on your skills and your work rate will get better as you get older.

Bec_Luvs_Ben: Do you know if Milney will play this week?

Ben Schwarze: It's going to be very tough after a win like that, but he put in a good performance and he should be back in the side.

ivy_my_hero: Have you been told what you need to do to get selected in the senior side?

Ben Schwarze: Yeah, get my tackling and my selfless acts up.

Bec_Luvs_Ben: Ben, what’s happened to the Sandy? It’s not the same without you!

Ben Schwarze: Hey, it's football season!

geeze: Do you use the computer often?

Ben Schwarze: I look at the Saints website every so often.

saintboy: What position did you play throughout your junior football?

Ben Schwarze: Mainly on-ball or on the wing.

bens_gurl: A regular question here ... do you have a girlfriend at the moment?

Ben Schwarze: Not at the moment.

mightysainters: Where would you like to see yourself play in the Seniors?

Ben Schwarze: Probably Half Back.

MILNE_ROX_MY_WORLD: Who or what has the biggest influence on the way you play?

Ben Schwarze: Watching Aaron Hamill and Lenny Hayes play.

Guest: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a footballer?

Ben Schwarze: My strengths probably are my running and ability to take good marks, and my weaknesses would probably be my tackling and pressure.

Ben Schwarze: Thanks very much for having a chat tonight, stick with the mighty Sainters! See ya!
