AFL.com.au and its Trade Week Radio were the top destinations for footy fans during the 2011 Trade Week, with nearly 300,000 people visiting the website's 'Trade Week centre' over the eight days.
The figure is an increase of 37 per cent on 2010.
In just its second year, Trade Week Radio also proved to be hugely popular with more than 153,000 unique listeners, up from 91,514 listeners in 2010. Trade Week Radio started the week with 800 followers on Twitter and finished with 8100.
AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan said it was an outstanding result for AFL Media during one of the most important and busiest weeks of the year for clubs and players.
"I want to thank all the clubs, coaches, players, player managers and everyone else for their support over the week and helping to make this such a great vehicle for fans and media wanting to get all the latest news and developments as they happened," he said.
"Once again Trade Week Radio was a clear leader for news and interviews with all the key AFL figures. Its following on Twitter alone was phenomenal and for those wanting to get the news first Trade Week Radio was the only place to be."
Thirty-one trades involving 28 players were made over the course of Trade Week, giving a new opportunity to a number of existing players, rookies and others to further their career at the elite level.
