Fremantle vice-captain Matthew Pavlich has capped off an excellent season by winning the club's 2006 best and fairest award - the Doig Medal.On a night Peter Bell revealed he was stepping down as captain of the club, Pavlich won the award by three votes with youngster Michael Johnson and Bell finishing tied for second.In a year where Fremantle made the preliminary final for the first time in the club's history, Pavlich became the Dockers' all-time goal scoring record holder with 240 goals. He also equalled the club record for goals in a season - 71 - set by Tony Modra in 1999.Pavlich played all 25 games this year to take his tally for Fremantle to 153 matches, of which the last 122 have been consecutive - another club record.
