These championships will showcase the best AFL players that South Africa has on offer, with all competitors’ vying for an opportunity to travel to Australia and compete in the AFL’s International Cup.
July proves to be a very busy month for the North West Province with the North West Provincial Championships being held only days prior to the AFL South Africa National Championships.

"These will be the first ever provincial championship in the North West and I surely want to be a part of it in every aspect,” said Julian – Player and FootyWILD Regional Manager for Dr. Kenneth Kaunda Region.
“The championships will be highly competitive and I think it will be as exciting as the game has been in the North West. The skill level on display will be of a high standard."
North West Provincial Manager July said; “I am looking forward to seeing the players, coaches and umpires enjoying a fully uniformed and structured game of footy like never before.”

At the completion of the North West Provincial Championships, the South African team will be announced. It is these players that will travel to Melbourne in August to represent their country at the AFL International Cup.
The South African Representative team will be competing against the following teams in the AFL International Cup; Canada, USA, Great Britain, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Denmark, China, Ireland, Japan, Finland, Samoa, Sweden, Spain, Tonga and Nauru.
