WEST COAST Eagles defender Adam Selwood has been unsuccessful in his attempt to have his penalty reduced at Tuesday night's AFL tribunal hearing.

Because of his existing good record, Selwood was offered a reprimand and 93.75 points for striking Sydney Swan Amon Buchanan in the weekend's clash at Subiaco Oval.

The 24-year-old chose to challenge the charge but the tribunal saw it differently.

The three-man jury found that he delivered a blow that made more than negligible contact to the Swan.

"I'm disappointed obviously in the decision and disappointed in losing my good behaviour record but we'll just move on and so be it," Selwood said after the hearing.

Suspension was never at risk and he is available to play against Essendon on Friday night.

Earlier on Tuesday, Fremantle defender Heath Black accepted a two-week ban for striking Brisbane Lion Troy Selwood.

Fremantle chose not to contest the charge at the AFL tribunal, which could have seen Black rubbed out for three matches had it been unsuccessful.

The second-quarter incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points), drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction.

Black had no existing record and his early plea reduced the penalty by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and a two-match sanction.

The 29-year-old also accepted a $900 fine for wrestling Selwood, as did the latter for his part.

All other players accepted their sanctions.

North Melbourne's Michael Firrito and Cat Paul Chapman accepted $900 sanctions for wrestling each other.

Western Bulldog Ben Hudson accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for striking St Kilda's Leigh Montagna.

A match day report against Carlton’s Jordan Russell was withdrawn.
