The Essendon Football Club has a reputation as a leader in the Australian sports industry, with a proud history and strong values. Driven to be recognised and respected as the most successful sporting club in Australia, both on and off the field, we are now seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Corporate Services team and work closely with our external payroll processing house.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring accurate & timely reconciliation of staff remuneration and related payments including superannuation, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax
- Providing staff with salary packing advice
- Processing new starters and terminations
- Creating monthly payroll reports and completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll related accounts.
- Assisting in the Total Player Payment (TPP) reporting requirements set out by the AFL.
- General payroll queries and resolving any payroll issues
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- Prior experience in Payroll
- Understanding of awards, taxation and payroll related legislation
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Capability to work independently and part of a team
- High levels of attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
