GEELONG defender Corey Enright has capped a great season by taking home his second club best and fairest award.

More than 1700 people packed into the Palladium on Thursday night at Melbourne's Crown Casino for the final act in the Cats' week-long premiership celebrations, and they gave Enright a standing ovation after he claimed the 'Carji' Greeves Medal.

The 30-year-old, who was selected in the back pocket in the All Australian team, polled 150 votes to win narrowly from another two-time winner, Joel Corey (143 votes).

Norm Smith medallist Jimmy Bartel (142) was third.

The medal was undecided going into the Grand Final, but Enright claimed victory when he polled seven votes for his efforts in Geelong's 38-point victory over Collingwood.

Enright also won the Cats' best and fairest after their previous premiership season in 2009.

He has been selected in the All Australian team in each of the past four seasons.

This year's vote-count was the closest on record, with only 16 votes separating first and 10th.

Retiring skipper Cameron Ling and ultra-consistent midfielder James Kelly tied for fourth with 138 votes, while Joel Selwood, Matthew Scarlett and Steve Johnson tied for sixth on 137.

James Podsiadly was ninth (136) and Harry Taylor 10th (134).

The club also announced the introduction of the Tom Harley award for the player that best demonstrates the values of the team and the club, and is prepared to spend time assisting his teammates on and off the field.

It is voted on by the playing list and coaching staff.

Joel Selwood and Cameron Mooney shared the award.

Daniel Menzel was named best young player, while Mooney also won the coach's award.

Selwood was named as the Cats' community champion for his work outside football.
