The Fremantle Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Wally Foreman, an icon of WA Sport.For more than 30 years he has been a passionate member of the WA sporting fraternity through his work as the inaugural Director of the Western Australian Institute of Sport and as one of the ABC’s most experienced sports broadcasters.Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Cameron Schwab says it is a sad day for sport in Western Australia.“Wally was a respected media commentator and analyst, whose work encompassed Olympic and Commonwealth Games, as well as Test cricket and an endless list of sporting events," Mr Schwab said.“He was a true gentleman and a professional, popular and valued member of the community.“On behalf of the Fremantle Football Club, I extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Lyn and sons Glen and Mark.
