DANIEL Motlop won't be eligible for Goal of the Year unless he gets enough votes from fans this week to win Goal of the Week.

And he's got some stiff opposition thanks to goals from the popular Dale Thomas of Collingwood and Brett Burton of Adelaide.

The 22 winners of the Goal of the Week make up the nominees for Goal of the Year. And it's the fans who decide Goal of the Week by voting online.

Motlop’s nomination came during the fourth quarter of the clash with Fremantle when he outplayed his opponent to run on and collect the loose ball, evade another Docker and kick a brilliant goal tight on the boundary.

Power fans can view and vote for Motlop’s goal here. Voting is open until Sunday night.

In 2008, the winner of the Toyota AFL Goal of the Year award will receive:
- The use of a TRD Aurion for 12 months, presented by Toyota
- $5000 for their grassroots club, presented by Toyota

- The Phil Manassa Medal

After the 22 rounds of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season, the AFL All-Australian selection committee will decide the overall winner from the weekly winners.

The award will be the presented during 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final week.
