St Kilda’s 2011 Trevor Barker Award recipient Sam Fisher helped re-open the St Kilda Bowling Club on Saturday 26 November.
Fisher was asked to join the festivities and deliver the first bowl on their new greens.
Despite the torrential rain, Sam rolled the 40 year old bowl but just missed the jack, which he can be forgiven for due to the hideous weather.
St Kilda Bowling Club President David Streefkerk, along with his wife and child, are Saints Members and were very grateful for Sam’s time, especially as he had just come from a hard training session at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre followed by a time trial on Dendy Beach.
With plenty of Saints supporters attending the formalities, Sam was only too happy to sign autographs and Guernseys, appear in photos and talk all things Saints with interested parties.
