Although Scott West has enjoyed an outstanding year, according to his Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade, Brad Johnson is the Bulldog most likely to bring home this year's Brownlow medal.

"Westy's polled well in the past and will be up the top half, but I think Johnson's had a better year," Eade said from the Whitelion luncheon at the MCG on Tuesday.

"When you're vertically challenged, to kick 70 goals has been a great effort. Brad's been terrific," he said.

Johnson has not only kicked 70 goals to be second on the AFL goal kicking ladder but has also racked up 303 kicks - the second-highest at the Bulldogs - snared 163 marks, topping his side and collected 426 disposals in total to be the club's sixth best.

Eade admitted however that it's always a difficult task trying to predict who will get to take 'Charlie' home.

"I think it's very difficult to assess Brownlow propositions. You only see the opposition twice a year.

"Adam (Goodes) had a great year and I'm sure West will up in the top half, but it's not that easy to choose," he said.
