It will be a mix of old and new when the Cats face St Kilda in Canberra on Saturday. Senior stars Corey Enright, Joel Corey, Max Rooke, Joel Selwood and Travis Varcoe will play their first pre-season game of the season and they could be joined by newcomers Liam Bedford, Shane Mumford and Jeremy Laidler.

Brad Ottens, Tom Harley, Steve Johnson, Jimmy Bartel, Gary Ablett and David Wojcinski will not play after helping the Cats to a first up NAB Cup win over Melbourne.

Geelong won the NAB Cup in 2006 and progressed to the semi finals last season. The Cats have made it to the semi final stage or better in four of the past five seasons.

Geelong named a 28 player squad that must be reduced to 26 for the clash with the Saints. It will be the first pre-season meeting of the sides since the 2004 Wizard Cup grand final at Telstra Dome.
