North Melbourne midfielder Jack Ziebell is feeling fit and ready to take on St Kilda after suffering a heavy knock to the chest during the first quarter of Saturday’s 98-point win over Fremantle.

After spending Saturday night in the Epworth Hospital undergoing precautionary tests, everything is looking good for the 20 year-old ahead of the club’s all important match against the Saints.

“I took it easy on Sunday but I’m feeling totally back to normal now and really looking forward to getting out there on Saturday night,” Ziebell told kangaroos.com.au.

When Ziebell got up after tackling Fremantle’s Tendai Mzungu he knew something wasn’t quite right.

”I just felt badly winded and like I needed to throw up but instead it was a bit of blood.”

Director of Medical Services and Player Pathways Steve Saunders helped treat Ziebell on the night and is happy with how he has recovered.

“Jack sustained a small bruise to the lung but all tests have cleared him of any serious damage,” Saunders said.

“The specialists have said he’s fine and he’ll be right to play on the weekend.”
