I have loved every minute at the Adelaide Football Club and feel very privileged and lucky to have been part of the Club for the past nine seasons. I can’t thank the Club enough, firstly for giving me an opportunity to play in the AFL and then for giving me the chance to get back to playing again after my knee injury. I feel very lucky to have achieved that after my injury.
I would like to thank the coaching staff, in particular Craigy and Dave Noble, who have been great mentors and taught me lessons and values on and off the field that I will use for the rest of my life.
Also the fitness staff, Stephen Schwerdt, Kris Hinck, Charlie Walsh and Dave Binney, who have gone above and beyond what they had to do to get me back playing.
Thanks also to the medical staff who I owe so much to and who have played a huge role in getting my body right and kept me positive through some of my toughest times - Andrew Potter, Brian Sando, Steve Kennett, Mark Cesana, Kevin Whitford, Mark Nagel and Chris Hampel.
To Triggy, John Reid, Bill and Steve Sanders, Phil Harper and all the support staff, thanks for having faith in me when others might not have.
To Dr Richard Clarnette and the staff at Wakefield and Park Wynd hospitals, who probably saw the worst of me and have done an amazing job to repair and fix my knee. Thanks.
To my family and friends, mum, dad, brother, Steph and her family, I thank them for their unconditional love and support and I will never be able to express in words how much I appreciate the sacrifices they have made for me.
To all the boys, past and present, that I have been at the club with, you’ve all been a huge part of my life and I have so many great mates and memories. I wish the current group of players all the best for the future.
Also, I want to thank the Crows supporters, who I have no doubt are the best in the AFL and who have been instrumental in keeping me positive with letters, cards and best wishes. It was great to be able to play in front of you.
Thanks, Trent Hentschel"
