PORT Adelaide is becoming frustrated with defender Ben Jacobs and has demanded that he makes a decision about his future.
Jacobs, 20, has been linked with a return to his home state of Victoria, but football manager Peter Rohde says he is a required player.
"We're getting to the stage where we need to know exactly what Ben wants to do," Rohde told The Advertiser newspaper in Adelaide.
"There's been a lot of discussion and speculation about him but the bottom line is that he still hasn't told the club where he wants to play his football next season."
Rohde said Jacobs' indecision had forced the club to put other contract negotiations on hold.?
"Clearly we want him to stay, he is a required player who we have big hopes for, but we can't let the uncertainty drag on.??
"We need an answer soon as to whether he wants to stay or go."??
Jacobs has played 26 matches in two seasons with the Power after being taken with selection 16 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft.
Rohde also insisted that tough midfielder Matt Thomas, who has been linked with the Tigers, was a required player at Alberton.??
"We've had no contact from Richmond and Matty is still contracted to us for another year, so we expect to keep him," he said.
