EMERGING Carlton tall Jacob Weitering will be fit to play against Melbourne on Sunday after overcoming a corked hip.
Weitering copped an accidental knock from Richmond defender Alex Rance early in the Blues' 43-point loss last Thursday night at the MCG.
The 19-year-old came from the ground several times for treatment, but finished the game and was one of the biggest positives to come out of the Blues' defeat.
Playing in attack, Weitering kicked three goals and took seven marks, including three inside Carlton's forward 50.
The No.1 draft pick from 2015 has recovered well since Thursday night and is expected to train fully this week in the lead-up to the Demons clash.
It seems likely Weitering will start in attack against Melbourne given his round one performance and the Blues' lack of genuine key forwards.
However, Carlton coach Brendon Bolton said last Thursday night he will continue to use Weitering at both ends of the ground this season, in the hope of developing him as a swingman.
