The North Melbourne Football Club wishes to advise all members the date for the 2010 Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been changed from the 27th of January to the 16th February at 6.30pm.

It will still be held at the Victorian Fencing Centre on Arden Street, North Melbourne.

The club’s Board of Directors were obliged to change the date in order to clear up any confusion which arose after a letter was sent to members by nominee Peter de Rauch.

The actions of Mr. de Rauch and the way in which he obtained member information were not endorsed or supported by the club.

The club received numerous queries and complaints from confused and concerned members. Some wrongly assumed that Mr. de Rauch’s letter was endorsed by the club and the Board while others signed and returned the proxy enclosed with Mr. de Rauch’s letter and upon learning that it was not supported by the club, sought to revoke it.

The club would like to make clear three members of the current Board are offering themselves up for re-election to fill three available positions. Mr. de Rauch was seeking to take the place of one of those Board members.

Any proxies previously completed for the AGM scheduled for the 27th of January 2011 (including those issued with the correspondence of Mr de Rauch) will no longer be valid.

Members will receive correspondence from the club and new proxy forms via mail in the coming days.

The club is also aware it must comply with the Corporations Act and its own Constitution and has therefore deemed it necessary to reschedule the AGM.
