Player Development Coach Steve Malaxos reviews the performances of Fremantle players who played in the WAFL Semi Finals at the weekend.

Byron Schammer (Claremont) Possessions: 17 kicks, 17 handpasses, 3 marks, 1 goal, 1 hit out.
Malaxos says:
Byron was a standout in the middle for the Tigers in their win over Subiaco. He ran strongly, used the ball well and linked well as the ball came out of the back half. It was one of his best performances for the season.

Andrew Browne (Claremont) Possessions: 5 kicks, 10 handpasses, 1 mark, 1 goal.
Malaxos says:
Andrew had to deal with a close tag all day and found it hard to shake off. His stats were down on recent weeks but he had a valuable contribution through the middle for Claremont.

Shane Parker (Subiaco) Possessions: 5 kicks, 4 handpasses, 3 marks.
Malaxos says:
Shane had his first game in the league side for a number of weeks and had a number of different opponents in defence. He moved well throughout the game, which indicates he has recovered from his hamstring injury.

Ryan Murphy (South Fremantle) Possessions: 11 kicks, 4 handpasses, 7 marks, 3 goals.
Malaxos says:
Ryan moved very well and presented continually from the forward line for the Bulldogs. He had a good performance, took some strong marks and had a good conversion rate in front of goal.

Paul Duffield (South Fremantle) Possessions: 9 kicks, 15 handpasses, 3 marks, 1 goal.
Malaxos says:
Paul had a couple of different roles through the midfield and up forward. He linked up well through the centre when the ball was rebounding from defence and provided a reliable target up the ground. He played his best football in the middle.

Benet Copping (East Perth) Possessions: 5 kicks, 9 handpasses, 5 marks.
Malaxos says:
Benet had a strong start in defence but when South Fremantle got on top he was placed under a lot of pressure along with his defensive team mates. His opponent kicked a few goals on him during that period but he was generally a good contributor for the Royals on the day.

Darren Rumble (Subiaco Reserves)
Malaxos says:
Darren played a steady defensive game and should be in contention for a recall into Subiaco’s league side for this weekend’s Preliminary Final against South Fremantle.

Calib Mourish (East Fremantle Reserves)
Malaxos says:
Calib kicked three goals in the Sharks’ win over Subiaco to help them book a place in the Reserves Grand Final. He played forward and took some strong marks and kicked some impressive snap goals under pressure.

Clayton Collard (South Fremantle Reserves)
Malaxos says:
Clayton had a few runs in the midfield and collected some valuable clearances.
