Queensland’s biggest Billycart Championship is back for 2009. Held on a grass track, the challenge is to construct a cart that handles all kinds of terrain and hopefully can brake as well! Carts are also available for those without a vehicle who are keen to race.
Everyone is welcome to compete with a range of categories and prizes up for grabs:
• winners for each age category
• best home-made cart
• best stack
• fastest billycart
Enter the Brisbane 150 Billycart Parade and you could win a prize for the best themed cart and team. Plus there's a full day of entertainment, displays and food stalls.
The hugely popular Mascot Race will also be making a welcome return to the track at 11:30am. Watch as the Brisbane Lions mascot Bernie ‘Gabba’ Vegas battles it out against the Hog’s Breath Café’s Pinky and Crazy John. Or will it be Lone Pine Koala, Grove Juice’s Cedric the Orange or Birch Carroll & Coyle’s Candy Bear who takes home the trophy?
