The Cats have set many a record over the past four years, and a win over West Coast on Saturday will see Mark Thompson establish another new record.

A victory will see Thompson as the first coach in league history to guide his club to 17 or more wins in four consecutive home & away seasons.

Hawthorn is the only club to have achieved the mark, doing so 1986-89. However the Hawks had two coaches over the period, with both Allan Jeans and Alan Joyce taking them to their successes.

Thompson’s Cats have won 18 games in 2007, 21 in 2008, 18 in 2009 and 16 so far in 2010.
