Pearce burst onto the scene late in 2005 with a dashing two-goal performance on debut against the Kangaroos in Canberra and continued to impress late in the season, earning the Power’s Best First Year Player Award. In 2006, Pearce cemented his spot in the starting 22 playing all 22 games for the year and winning the AFL Rising Star Award while also polling four best on grounds in the Brownlow voting. His dashing runs and raking left boot have seen him become an integral cog in the Power midfield engine, now often being the first player the opposition tag. Pearce has also represented Australia in the International Rules Series in 2006.
