Giants bait Dogs with #belessbulldog social media campaign
GWS launches '#belessbulldog' social media campaign
GREATER Western Sydney appears determined to maintain the rage against the Western Bulldogs, taking the animosity between the two clubs to a provocative new level on social media.
In a tweet to its 26,000 followers, the official GWS account posted a picture of former Bulldogs Leon Cameron, Ryan Griffen and Callan Ward, touting them as 'lost dogs' and using the hashtag #belessbulldog.
The club also posted the picture on the homepage of its official website.
It follows dramatic trade period negotiations between the two clubs, largely played out in the public domain.
Having stated they wouldn't trade last year's No.1 draft pick Tom Boyd under any circumstances, the Giants changed their mind last week after the Bulldogs increased their offer to include Griffen and pick No.6.
The trade went through, and Boyd was unveiled by the Bulldogs on Tuesday, the day GWS started its 'be less Bulldog' campaign.
Upon his arrival at GWS, Griffen spoke openly about his frustrations with former coach Brendan McCartney and explained how he was uncomfortable being the Bulldogs captain.
