The 2010 Tour de Kangaroo has kicked into second gear with its first celebrity signing.

The man behind the famous football tune ‘Up there Cazaly’ Mike Brady has just been confirmed as a certain starter for the trip to Bathurst.

The event has already been endorsed by Sam Kekovich and brings Brady back together with Chairman of the Tour Dr Allen Aylett.

Brady wrote ‘Up there Cazaly’ when Aylett was president of the VFL/AFL and both are laying claim to the anthem’s success.

Aylett claims he commissioned Brady to write a song for the league while Brady says he wrote and then went to Aylett to get some backing.

However the debate has long been the source of some friendly banter between the two and is set to continue on October 2 when the rally begins.

“I’m looking forward to the Tour. I’ve been on a number of bashes and the smaller event should be a lot of fun,” Brady said.

“I’m also looking forward to hooking up with Allen again as the ‘Up there Cazaly’ years were ground breaking for football and I have a lot of happy memories of that time.”

Tour organisers have also announced the addition of two new sponsors with Patties Pies and Box Hill Institute of TAFE on board. They join existing sponsors Press Here and Right Engineering.

All money raised will go towards North Melbourne’s innovative educational classroom The Huddle.

‘This year’s Tour starts the weekend after the grand final, with a send off from The Huddle. Our ultimate destination is the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama. We’ll end the Tour by watching V8 stars Jamie Whincup, James Courtney and Garth Tander all battle it out for the chequered flag,” Aylett said.

Participants will cruise past the Grampians, the Little Desert, the home of Mad Max at Silverton, the opal mining town of White Cliffs and the giant dish in Parkes.

With outstanding country hospitality, extraordinary meals, memorable camping experiences with 5 million star accommodation and outstanding company, Tour de Kangaroo is not to be missed.
