The Brisbane Lions A.F.C, arguably the AFL's most successful team and brand over the last decade, is seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Accounts Officer to become a valued member of their team. The Brisbane Lions A.F.C has diverse service offerings, an ever increasing profile and strong brand.


The role is based at our LIONS@Springwood Social Club, and will be primarily responsible for the correct reporting of all financial aspects of this part of our business. In particular, key responsibilities include daily trade and gaming banking; weekly turnover and net figures; Keno and TAB reconciliations; data entry of all details into daily, weekly and monthly P&L; processing of invoices and accounts; communication of casual employees’ hours with our subcontractor; and petty cash reimbursements. You will also be responsible for managing all administration related tasks and procedures within the Club, such as document preparation, distribution and management, and maintenance of materials and information.
The ideal candidate will possess strong accountancy skills and will have been employed in a similar role for a substantial period of time, preferably in the hospitality industry. You must be aware of all State, Federal and Local Government Legislations, in particular the Qld Gaming Act, Qld Liquor Act and the Workplace Health & Safety Act, and have an up to date knowledge of the industry. You will be highly organised and have the ability to maintain consistency and accuracy of your work at times of high volume and tight deadlines, and be able to cope under pressure. You must be adaptable, be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills without direct supervision, but also be able to work in a close team environment whilst maintaining individual responsibility for deadlines and accuracy. We have a number of external stakeholders you will be required to communicate and negotiate with to achieve desired business outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook is essential, and proven experience with hospitality POS systems, ideally H&L, is highly advantageous.

A competitive salary is on offer for the successful candidate. General business hours will be from 8:30am - 5:00pm Mon -Fri, however due to the nature of our business, some unsocial hours may need to be worked.
